Gurdjieff Movements: Peak of Alertness Both bodily and mental

To know something about Gurdjieff Movements, it is first pertinent to know about Gurdjieff who created them. George Gurdjieff was an enlightened devotee born in Armenia in 1866. From an early age, he started to examine the purpose of life, the creation of the universe and other such esoteric topics. At the age of 20, he set out on a journey persisting 20 years to the exotic lands of Central Asia, Egypt, Persia, Afghanistan, Tibet, India and other countries to visit spiritual places and people.

On his return to Russia in 1912, he began giving lectures, attracting admirers and followers and created 'sacred dances' but rather movements in a accurate order. He explained them as having a sure meaning secret beneath the outward form. His pupil and chronicler, P. D. Ouspensky, in his book, 'In crusade of the Miraculous' quotes the devotee as, "There is something like the planets of the solar theory in these dances. Each planet is at a sure length from the sun and when the theory starts, the spheres begin to move along prescribed paths reproducing the laws which govern the movements of the planets. There is something like this in the rhythm of sure dances."

News From Armenia

You have to be at the peak of your alertness, both corporal and mental, when you take part in Gurdjieff Movements. Seemingly simple, they require an agile body and a hyperactive mind as they are very accurate and strictly follow a fixed sequence. They look easy but are not, as it takes some time to get into the groove to achieve them accurately. They break all fixed patterns of your body and mind. They generate a space where the body, heart and operation can develop in lightness. As one goes deeper into these movements, one reaches a still, a silent point amid all the activity. In all the operation outside, one reaches the non-action inside at the centre. This experience is called 'Presence.' It is said that Gurdjieff would come to these dances, keep his eyes complete and direct the dancers to convert their movements as he wanted because they were so attuned to him. Even today, it is inherent for some groups to start these movements without music in complete harmony with each other for over 15 minutes, while totally blindfolded!

A dancer, a dance-teacher, a dance-therapist, a choreographer, Ma Prem Amiyo and Swami Chetan, both Osho disciples, show the way workshops on Gurdjieff Movements in many parts of the world for over 30 years now. After seeing a film about Gurdjieff called 'Meetings with great Men', Osho observed that there was nothing great about the film except the last ten minutes showing these movements. He asked Ma Amiyo to study them for three days. She viewed those ten-minute clips non-stop for three days and then Osho told her to lead a group on Gurdjieff Movements! Since then, she has never looked back and conducts these groups in many parts of the world and opened her school in Alsace, France. For participants, seeing stillness amid all this operation is a unique experience.

Controlling Pests and Diseases in the house Vegetable garden

Control of Pests:

Pest operate is very leading to the thriving gardener! Cultural practices, such as eliminating all weeds and grass from your garden, including the covering edges, are very important. This will minimize their chance to migrate in from other places.

News From Armenia

Also, maintaining dry wide aisles will sell out their opportunities for spreading.

And growing healthy, vigorous plants will sell out pests' effectiveness more than anything else. This is one of the great benefits of The Mittleider Method, since plants are rarely in the ground long sufficient for pest populations to become a serious problem.

In order to learn the varied types of bugs, and be able to distinguish which are harmful and how to assault them, I propose you study episode 20 in The Mittleider Gardening procedure or Lecture #22 in the Video Lecture Series, for definite information.

Also, there is good information available on the internet. Two articles I particularly like are one by the University of Florida at http://ipm.ifas.ufl.edu, and one by Oklahoma State U at http://osufacts.okstate.edu/docushare/dsweb/Get/Document-2786/Hla-6434web.pdf

Diseases - arresting and Control

Food For Everyone, a college-level textbook by Dr. Jacob R. Mittleider, has leading chapters on both pest and disease control. For the serious grower this book is very recommended.

As with controlling pests in the garden, we propose that your first line of defense against disease is the use of some leading preventive "cultural practices" that include:

1) Maintaining a totally weed-free garden with wide, dry aisles,

2) Pruning leaves off the ground,

3) Watering only at the soil level (never sprinkle) and only in the actual root area,

4) Growing seedlings in a protected environment and transplanting stocky, wholesome seedlings into the garden,

5) Feeding plants a complete, balanced natural mineral nutrient mix that encourages healthy, rapid growth,

6) Harvesting when crops are mature, and

7) If using row covers or "mini greenhouses," open the ends on cool days (50+), and set the covers to one side on warm days (65+), to maximize sunlight and circulation, and sell out excess humidity build-up.

By following these procedures your problems with pests and disease will commonly be rare.

You may have been doing all of these things, and only the increased humidity and warmth of the row covers could give disease an opening.

If you are experiencing Downy Mildew, a fungus disease, normal symptoms for all affected vegetable crops, which commonly happen under high-humidity conditions, contain spots appearing on leaves and a downy white or grey mold developing in these spots or on the undersides of the leaves opposite these spots.

With broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, and Brussels sprouts, dark spots may invent on the heads as well as the leaves. Black streaks may be visible on stems and a white fuzzy increase may develop. Seedlings are especially affected.

The best solutions are preventative, and constitute physical controls, such as I have described above.

Also, it's leading to take off and burn all old leaves.

If you have the problem, if it is not too widespread, I propose you take off all affected plants immediately and improve the physical conditions as much as possible.

Biological operate is your last option, short of removing the whole crop.
"Wettable sulfur, sprayed on tomatoes every two weeks at a rate of 2 tablespoons per gallon will of course preclude mildew. And....it is cheap.

"One tablespoon of wettable sulfur to one gallon of water sprayed on squash leaves After you have removed all infected leaves will operate mildew on your squash.

"Preventive spraying is the best way to operate mildew and only spray in the evening when the leaves of your plants have had a chance to cool down. Spraying on hot leaves will burn them. Ditto with tomatoes.

"Cucumbers are a question and they do not like sulfur. Skim milk seems to do well on cukes.

"Keeping all leaves that do not look exquisite removed daily from your plants, tomatoes, cukes, and squash, goes a long way in preventing the spread of the mildew. Mildew, after all, is a fungus and spreads via spores that blow in the wind." Contributed by a Mittleider Gardening Group Member - Joanne "pathaj" from Southern California.

Several chemicals are sold to operate downy mildew, including Benomyl, Copper, Folpet, Lime Sulfur, Sulfur and chlorothalonil. Counsel with the store from which you accumulate any of these materials, and always, when using pesticides, read the whole label on the package and follow the directions. Because mildew will built up a resistance to fungicides over time, especially Benomyl, if the question persists you will need to think changing the materials used occasionally.

Ammonia For vigor storage

Fossil fuels, hydrogen, and ammonia are all just power converyance means. These materials are not a "source" of energy... They are all made from available power sources and characterize a viable means of transporting power which I will refer to as a "fuel".

For applications such as transportation, a high power density fuel is required which can actually be handled. While hydrogen may be employed by society as a means of storing and transporting energy, the technology is in its infancy and is not yet commercially viable.

News From Armenia

One alternative "fuel" which is immediately available is ammonia, Nh3. Ammonia is ordinarily a gas with a characteristically pungent odor. Ammonia is commonly used as fertilizer. Although in wide use, ammonia is both caustic and risky just as gasoline is. In 2006, worldwide yield was estimated at 146.5 M tonnes.

Ammonia, as used commercially, is often called anhydrous ammonia. This term emphasizes the absence of water in the material. It can be handled in ways similar to gasoline and can be burned using fairly thorough internal combustion motor technology. Ammonia continues to be used as a refrigerant in market processes such as bulk ice-making and market food processing. It is increasingly beloved in market applications, such as in grocery store freezer cases and refrigerated displays.

To make ammonia, all we need is a source of power such as solar or wind power, nitrogen from the air, and water. Storehouse and handling technologies for ammonia is well understood and it is safely used by farmers throughout the nation every day. Solutions of ammonia (5-10% by weight) are used as household cleaners, particularly for glass. These solutions are irritating to the eyes and mucous membranes (respiratory and digestive tracts), and to a lesser extent the skin. The toxicity of ammonia solutions does not ordinarily cause problems for humans and other mammals, as a exact mechanism exists to prevent its build-up in the bloodstream [1].

The gas is flammable (autoignition temperature: 651 °C) and can form explosive mixtures with air (16-25%). Anhydrous ammonia corrodes copper- and zinc-containing alloys, and so brass fittings should not be used for handling the gas. Liquid ammonia can also strike rubber and confident plastics. Although ammonia is regulated in the United States as a non-flammable gas, it still meets the definition of a material that is toxic by inhalation and requires a risky security permit when transported in quantities greater than 13,248 L (3,500 gallons) [2].

Ammonia ignites at 651°C based fuels offer a great potential for universal use but suffer from the disadvantage that pure ammonia cannot be used in high-speed engines because its flame speed is too low. Omachron Technologies Inc. Has advanced a simple means of allowing approved internal combustion engines to burn ammonia.

In addition, ammonia can also be doped with environmentally cordial chemical additives to make it compatible in high-speed engines. Ammonia can already be used in low-speed engines and in fuel cells. It is already produced in large quantities and it can actually be made on a distributed basis thereby allowing a decentralized yield and distribution infrastructure. yield facilities can actually be expanded.

The key is to look at means of producing ammonia efficiently from solar and wind energy.

Ammonia is not a "magical fuel" but it can actually be made from renewable power sources, stored with existing technology, produces only water vapor and nitrogen as bi-products when burned, and is not more risky to handle than gasoline or propane.

********************************************************************
[1] Ammonia is converted to carbamoyl phosphate by the enzyme carbamoyl phosphate synthetase, and then enters the urea cycle to be whether incorporated into amino acids or excreted in the urine.

Repeated exposure to ammonia lowers the sensitivity to the smell of the gas: ordinarily the odour is detectable at concentrations of less than 0.5 ppm (parts per million), but desensitized individuals may not detect it even at concentrations of 100 ppm.

The permissible exposure limit (Pel) in the United States is 50 ppm (35 mg/m³), while the Idlh attentiveness is estimated at 300 ppm.

[2] The U. S. Occupational security and health supervision (Osha) has set a 15-minute exposure limit for gaseous ammonia of 35 ppm by volume in the environmental air and an 8-hour exposure limit of 25 ppm by volume. Exposure to very high concentrations of gaseous ammonia can corollary in lung damage and death.

The Genesis Flood - Where Did the Water Come From?

Other Extra Water Sources

The Genesis Flood reached a height of 15 cubits above the highest mountain on earth.

News From Armenia

Gen. 7:17 And the flood was forty days upon the earth; and the waters increased, and bare up the ark, and it was lift up above the earth.

Gen. 7:18 And the waters prevailed, and were increased greatly upon the earth; and the ark went upon the face of the waters.

Gen. 7:19 And the waters prevailed exceedingly upon the earth; and all the high hills, that were under the whole heaven, were covered.

Gen. 7:20 Fifteen cubits upward did the waters prevail; and the mountains were covered.

By Sir Isaac Newton's definition of a cubit that is more than 30 feet. Many geologists who believe the literal inventory of the Genesis Flood are convinced that much of the heaving up of the high mountains may have occurred after the waters stopped rising, so that the depth of the water could have been far less than it would have to be to do that same thing today. Others feel that the elevating of the mountains was caused by the breaking up of the fountains of the deep when the gushing out of high pressure, youthful waters were causing volcanic and earthquake activity. youthful waters are the young waters or the waters just newly introduced to the atmosphere from their tomb under the earth's crust. In any event, even at the lower mountain levels, it took an foreseen, whole of water to cover the earth in that manner. Where did the extra water come from? Is it in any way inexpensive to believe that so much extra water could have been found to cause such a phenomenon?

Plenty of Water for the Flood

Notwithstanding notions to the contrary by opportunistic historic geologists and other atheistic scientists who believe that the Biblical inventory is vulnerable at this point, there were such water sources. Not only that, but an comprehension of where the water came from and where it went to after the Flood fits perfectly into the Biblical description and the geological description that we survey today.

No Rain in the Antediluvian World

In the Antediluvian world there had been no rain. A mist went up every morning and watered the whole face of the earth. Every man who has studied the fossils is forced to agree that the whole earth was once much warmer than it is now. The Polar Regions were once lush grass lands. The coal deposits bear historic description that rich vegetation flourished on the earth in the early days. One coal deposit, it is generally agreed, bears description of a layer of vegetation 400 feet thick. This vegetation, we believe, was swept into place by the flood waters and buried by sediment. Even so, the availability of such vegetation speaks of a time when the earth was covered much more deeply in richer soils, and the atmosphere was such that it grew in much greater density. The foreseen, vast grave yards in the Polar Regions and of Siberia and Alaska--a matter which historic geologists, historic paleontologists, and proponents of the evolutionary principles always understate and play down--testify that abundant animal life was grazing in what were then tropical regions when the swift and catastrophic Flood came upon them.

The Great Moisture Canopy

These things tell us of a canopy of moisture that surrounded the earth, keeping in the radiant heat and filtering out harmful radiation from the sun. Some scientists have put forth the principles that such a filtering out of the harmful rays could inventory for the great longevity of the ancients. The falling of the canopy allowed harmful rays to reach the earth in greater quantity and concentration, and this started the gradual reduction of longevity. Orthodox theologians are content, on this subject, to say that the shortening of the years was due to God's judgement and mercy. We reconsider other, more apologetic explanations to be a weakening of that Biblical truth. But in any case, most all agree that the water canopy was there.

The Waters Above the Firmament

Some scientists believe that this is the meaning of Genesis 1:7. This, they feel, is telling us that there was a canopy of water in the earth's atmosphere. Other Orthodox Christian Theologians do not believe that this can be the meaning of Genesis 1:7, or at least not the whole meaning. Genesis 1:15 says that the waters are above the sun, the moon and the stars because the waters were above the firmament and the sun, the moon, and the stars are in the firmament.

The Great River and the Four Rivers

The obvious windup that one draws from Genesis 2:5, 6, and 10 is that a great river flowed out of the earth, watered the Garden, flowed out of the Garden, and divided into four large rivers that went forth into the whole earth that was all one connected land mass in those days (and yes, there are geological and paleontological testimonies to retain this too). From these rivers a mist rose up every morning and watered all of the ground. Granted it was not an intense irrigation, but then if it happened every day the ground did not need to be soaked. The atmosphere was tropical and the temperatures were very warm. In this way a canopy of water vapor was lifted up and suspended in the atmosphere.

The Water-Bearing Capacity of the Thermosphere

It is universally recognized that air at about 80 miles up is very hot--from 100 to 3000degrees Fahrenheit. For this intuit it is called the Thermosphere. At such temperatures it can hold vast volumes of water vapor. Since the water vapor does not displace the air, the whole of water that can be suspended is not carefully by the whole of air gift in the same space. Water vapor weighs only.622 as much as air. Without nuclei of condensation (particles for rain drops to form on) the water vapor would stay suspended indefinitely. The most coarse condensation nuclei is salt from the ocean and since there was no rain-and-evaporation cycle to lift the salt from the sea (if undoubtedly there was any salt to speak of in the antediluvian sea; a much smaller body of water and far less turbid than the post-diluvian ocean because there was no runoff from the land into the sea) there was nothing to cause it to rain. Such water vapor is transparent and cannot be seen, but it does filter out harmful sun rays. There was abundance of room in the atmosphere for the whole of water needed to cause the flood, to be suspended as a canopy. Morris -Whitcomb say, in The Genesis Flood, page 256:

"There is no quiz, that a vapor blanket of indefinitely great extent could be supported by the lower atmosphere.... Furthermore, the whole of vapor that could be maintained in any given volume of space in the vapor blanket would not be significantly affected by the nearnessy of air or other gases in the region."

Other Extra Water Sources

Another source of vast quantities of water was the vast subterranean pools trapped under the non-fractured seal of the earth's crust. When the fountains of the deep were broken up, probably by volcanic activity and earthquakes cracking the crust, great volumes of high-pressure water rushed out. Agreeing to Genesis 8, verse 2, this releasing of subterranean waters from the earth's crust went on for forty days--or at least synonymous with the windup of the windows of heaven--before the fountains of the deep were stopped. Again I quote from Morris-Whitcomb and The Genesis Flood, page 122:

"Great volcanic explosions and eruptions are clearly implied in the statement, 'all the fountains of the deep were broken up.' This must mean that great quantities of liquids, perhaps liquid rocks of magmas, as well as water (probably steam), had been confined under great pressure below the surface rock structure of the earth since the time of its formation and that this mass now burst forth through great fountains, probably both on lands and under the seas."

So the water needful to flood the whole earth to a depth of 30 or more feet above the highest mountain came from the vast canopy of water vapor surrounding the earth; and from the water described by the Bible as the fountains of the deep--in other words, waters stored below the earth's crust and released by upheavals, earthquakes, and volcanic activity. This is undoubtedly what the Bible says: "The windows of heaven were opened and the fountains of the deep were broken up."

What caused the canopy of water vapor to fall? God caused it to fall as a judgement. Are there any natural causes He might have used that we are aware of? The process could have been triggered by whatever that would have introduced particles into the vapors. That would consist of such things as a meteor shower. Pollution from the huge citizen of the earth ultimately reaching to those heights could have been involved. Or perhaps dust from a great volcano, the eruption of which was timed by God for this event. But these things are not known to us and it is not needful to know them or we would have been told.

The Universality of the Flood

That the Bible describes this as a universal flood is simply obvious by the general sense of language:

"And the Lord said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them...And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth...And, behold, I, even I, do bring a flood of waters upon the earth, to destroy all flesh, wherein is the breath of life, from under heaven; and every thing that is in the earth shall die...and every living substance that I have made will I destroy from off the face of the earth...And the flood was forty days upon the earth; and the waters increased, and bare up the ark, and it was lift up above the earth. And the waters prevailed, and were increased greatly upon the earth; and the ark went upon the face of the waters. And the waters prevailed exceedingly upon the earth; and all the high hills, that were under the whole heaven, were covered. Fifteen cubits upward did the waters prevail; and the mountains were covered. And all flesh died that moved upon the earth, both of fowl, and of cattle, and of beast, and of every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth, and every man: All in whose nostrils was the breath of life, of all that was in the dry land, died. And every living substance was destroyed which was upon the face of the ground, both man, and cattle, and the creeping things, and the fowl of the heaven; and they were destroyed from the earth: and Noah only remained alive, and they that were with him in the ark." (Genesis 6:7, 13, 17; 7:4, 7:17-23)

In I Peter 3:20 the Apostle said that only eight souls were saved, and in Ii Peter 3:6: "Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished."

The Chronology of the Flood

The downpour of rain and the spewing of water by the great fountains of the deep lasted for forty days, but the flood level continued to be above the highest mountain for 150 days. Some Bible-believing scientists hold that the Flood, in the following 110 days, maintained its level as a ensue of the fountains of the deep lasting to flow for another 110 days. These things are difficult to sort out and we do not make light of any legitimate attempt to come to grips with this great story and these vast events. Even so, part 8, verse 2 says that both sources of water were stopped simultaneously and that the waters receded from day 40 to day 150, at which time they had receded sufficient so that the Ark could come to rest in the 17th day of the seventh month, which was 150 days after it all began.

Isostasy, Tectonic Activity, and Other Strange Goings On

During this time, the ocean's lowest was sinking due to the fracturing of the earth's crust, the voids left by the escaping water and volcanic material, and the vast weight of the huge accumulation of sediment. This in turn was pushing up the mountains by the principle of isostasy, which means balancing off of forces, especially weight, so that there is a health of equal pressure on all sides, or a hydrostatic equilibrium. another way of putting it is that when something heavy pushed down the surface of the earth in one spot, something lighter was pushed up in another. It can be analogized as trying to put an inflated inner-tube in a tire that is too small for it. If you push it in at one place, it will pop out at another.

The Prevailing Waters of the Flood

The water vapor canopy had fallen and the fountains of the deep were stopped at the end of forty days. For another 110 days the water prevailed. The word prevailed, is the Hebrew word gabar (gaw-bar'),which means: to be haughty, to exalt one's self, to lift up, to mount up, to be proud, to raise up great height, to go upward. It is true that the phrase to be haughty could mean to refuse to subside, or to stand one's ground, but the text says to the ensue that they continued to cover the earth, though they were subsiding.

The Raging, fine Wind

After 140 days and for the duration of the 150 days and perhaps longer, God caused a great wind not only to blow, but to pass over the whole earth Agreeing to verse 1 of part 8. The word for wind is ruwach (roo'-akh). It is quite versatile in what it means. It can mean anger, a blast, or something very distabilizing. The purpose of this wind was to cause the waters to asswage. It is the Hebrew word shakak (shaw-kak') and it carries with it the plan of hiding, secreting, weaving over, or trapping. It seems to say that the waters were going back into hiding, i.e. Into the earth from whence they came and being sealed off again by the sediments or the shifting bottom. God caused this wind to pass over the earth. This is an piquant phrase. The word pass is the Hebrew `abar (aw-bar'). It is one of those original root words which have a multitude of meanings. It means to transition over, to cover, to crisscross, to alienate, to alter, to meddle, to overrun, to make to go away, to provoke to anger, wrath, to transgress, or the way of the wayfarer. The word for over is the Hebrew 'al (al). It is a preposition and it means over, above, against, beside, between, beyond, because of, concerning, through and a host of other like expressions. It is the word used by King David in Psalm 42:7, when he said: "Deep calleth unto deep at the noise of thy waterspouts: all thy waves and thy billows are gone over me." He used it again when he said, in Psalm 124:5, "Then the proud waters had gone over our soul." In these passages the Holy Ghost used the language of the Great Deluge to dramatize the depths of Christ's suffering in hell and of the awesome fear and destruction of one being triumphed over by his enemies.

The Receding Waters of the Flood

Verse 3 says that the waters returned continually from off the earth. The word returned is the Hebrew shuwb (shoob)and it means: to turn back, to return to the starting point, to retreat, to go home again, to refresh, to restore, to go backward, to withdraw. The word continually is halak (haw-lak')and it means to go forward, go around, go about, to depart, to return, to come, to go, backward, forward, to go too and fro, and to roam. In verse 7 we are told that the waters were dried up. This is the word yabesh (yaw-bashe') which means ashamed, confused, disappointing, withered away.

Together with the word wind we can very undoubtedly and very necessarily put together this interpretation: God, in His anger, caused a great furious blast to rage over the whole earth for five months or more, driving the confused waters in all directions with great speed and force, completely ripping apart, destroying, washing clean, and reshaping the whole face of the earth.

This whipping to and fro of this unfathomable mass of shoreless waters by the great wind caused them to whether go back into the earth to be sealed off again or to be withered by evaporation back up into the canopy from whence they fell. This was a violent, turbulent, and confused sea. It wandered aimlessly like a wayfarer, its great currents from all parts of the earth, slamming violently into land masses, and going back out again, until it lowered sufficient that the surface could be seen.

But the earth at this point had no low grounds or sprouting shrubs and plants. It was a wasted, muddy mess. Ten days later the lowlands, or the mud flats, were illustrated and plant life had started to grow. The dove found food and nesting and did not come back. Even so, the word for dried in verse 13 is the Hebrew charab (khaw-rab'or chareb (khaw-rabe')which means: desolate, destroyed, decayed, and wasted. It was a desolation of decay and death, which were everywhere. This verse means only to tell us that the waters had receded off of the land, or ground.

The Earth Begins to Dry

In verse 14, which was 50 days later, the earth was dried. Here the word is again yabesh (yaw-bashe'). It was a grim, shameful, disappointing scene of destruction and confusion; but the waters had withered or evaporated away so that Noah, his family, and the animals could get out of the Ark.

The Chronology of the Floodfrom Start to Finish

So the chronology of the Great Flood was this:

1. The rains fell and the fountains of the deep flowed for 40 days, at which time the great wind came and the waters began to asswage, though they continued to cover the highest mountain for another 110 days to the 150th day.

2. At the end of the 40 days and while the 110 days the waters began to whether go back into the crust of the earth (not as much as had come out because the sinking ocean floor had diminished the size of the voids) or to be evaporated back up as a canopy (never to come everywhere near the size of the original canopy as we shall see).

3. On the 224th day the tops of the mountains could be seen.

4. Forty days later, on the 10th of November, or the 10th day of the eleventh month, which was the 264th day, Noah sent out a raven and a dove through a window in the Ark. The raven was apparently able to feed on the carrion floating on the water and to find some place to rest, presumably in the mountains or on the top of the Ark, so he never returned; but because there was no nesting places and no vegetation for food, the dove came back.

5. On the 271st day Noah sent out the dove again, and it came back with the olive leaf.

6. 7 days later he sent out the dove yet again, and it did not come back.

7. On the 1st day of the 601st year, Noah removed the cover from the Ark but the ground areas were too muddy and sloppy to go out onto. He waited until the 27th day of the 2nd month of the 601st year and then went out of the Ark, at which time the ground was dry sufficient to start cultivating and building on.

How Long Was Noah In The Ark?

So how long was Noah in the Ark? If a year was 365 days long, he was in the Ark 375 days from the 17th day of the 2nd month of the 600th year until the 27th day of the 2nd month of the 601st year.

However, some Bible scholars say that the Hebrew calendar only had 30 days in a month. This would seem to be borne out by verse 4 of part 8 which says that from the 2nd month and the 17th day to the 7th month and the 17th day was a time space of exactly 150 days, though by our calendar that would be 151 days. If that scenario is true, the time in the Ark would be 370 days. These are things I am not sure about, but I do know that it was from the 17th day of the year 600 until the 27th day of the year 601, or in other words, a year and 10 days. The Ark was piquant upon the waters for 150 of those days until it came to rest on Mt. Ararat.

Was Ararat undoubtedly Ararat?

It is by no means clear what mountain range was being identified as the mountains of Ararat in those days. This was the time when there was no branch of nations, let alone an Armenia. And it does not help to look to Moses' day, because there was no Armenia then, either. The word Ararat is an obscure word and may have some other meaning entirely.

How High Were The Mountains?

And then there are men, like Dr. Henry M. Morris of the found for Creation Research, who believe that the furious wind and the receding of the waters into the crust caused great tectonic activity while the time that the waters were receding. Tectonic activity makes reference to the changing of the earth's surface and includes the heaving up of the mountain ranges. Everybody believes that the mountains where heaved up at some point, and there is no time in verifiable history when the instability of the surface of the earth combined with the needful and obviously capable soldiery to do this very work. Many mountains may have been raised to heights much higher than the one where the Ark rested while the following seven months. We must, however, to be consistent with the Scriptures, say that the mountains of Ararat, wherever they were and whatever is meant by them, were the highest mountains on earth at the moment that the Ark came to rest on them. No mountains were uncovered for another 73 days. By far the many volume of water that had to be removed was comprehended in the first 73 days. The volume decreased dramatically and astronomically as the level lowered.

I live in California in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. These are some of the highest mountains in the original 48 states. On the very top of passes like Tioga and Sonora, both of which are principally 10,000 feet where the road crosses with peaks to more that 14,000, there are water marks on the faces of the high cliffs and clams fossilized in the tops of rocks. Both of these phenomena own their genesis to a universal flood that covered the whole earth and receded very rapidly. A slow retreat of the waters would have laved away the slimes and saline explication needful for the clams to fossilize. One will find no fossils on tops of rocks at the sea shore. And then, too, of course, it had to be a time when there were no sea birds to find the clams and eat them. These phenomena along with hundreds of other factors attest to the reality of the great Flood to any honest man who is seeking truth. As for historic geologists and paleontologists, wisdom is justified of her children.

Ammonia For energy warehouse

Fossil fuels, hydrogen, and ammonia are all just power converyance means. These materials are not a "source" of energy... They are all made from available power sources and record a viable means of transporting power which I will refer to as a "fuel".

For applications such as transportation, a high power density fuel is required which can really be handled. While hydrogen may be employed by society as a means of storing and transporting energy, the technology is in its infancy and is not yet commercially viable.

News From Armenia

One alternative "fuel" which is immediately available is ammonia, Nh3. Ammonia is usually a gas with a characteristically pungent odor. Ammonia is ordinarily used as fertilizer. Although in wide use, ammonia is both caustic and hazardous just as gasoline is. In 2006, worldwide yield was estimated at 146.5 M tonnes.

Ammonia, as used commercially, is often called anhydrous ammonia. This term emphasizes the absence of water in the material. It can be handled in ways similar to gasoline and can be burned using fairly approved internal combustion machine technology. Ammonia continues to be used as a refrigerant in industrial processes such as bulk ice-making and industrial food processing. It is increasingly favorite in industrial applications, such as in grocery store freezer cases and refrigerated displays.

To make ammonia, all we need is a source of power such as solar or wind power, nitrogen from the air, and water. Storage and handling technologies for ammonia is well understood and it is safely used by farmers throughout the nation every day. Solutions of ammonia (5-10% by weight) are used as household cleaners, particularly for glass. These solutions are irritating to the eyes and mucous membranes (respiratory and digestive tracts), and to a lesser extent the skin. The toxicity of ammonia solutions does not usually cause problems for humans and other mammals, as a specific mechanism exists to preclude its build-up in the bloodstream [1].

The gas is flammable (autoignition temperature: 651 °C) and can form explosive mixtures with air (16-25%). Anhydrous ammonia corrodes copper- and zinc-containing alloys, and so brass fittings should not be used for handling the gas. Liquid ammonia can also strike rubber and certain plastics. Although ammonia is regulated in the United States as a non-flammable gas, it still meets the definition of a material that is toxic by inhalation and requires a hazardous security permit when transportable in quantities greater than 13,248 L (3,500 gallons) [2].

Ammonia ignites at 651°C based fuels offer a great potential for universal use but suffer from the disadvantage that pure ammonia cannot be used in high-speed engines because its flame speed is too low. Omachron Technologies Inc. Has developed a uncomplicated means of allowing accepted internal combustion engines to burn ammonia.

In addition, ammonia can also be doped with environmentally cordial chemical additives to make it compatible in high-speed engines. Ammonia can already be used in low-speed engines and in fuel cells. It is already produced in large quantities and it can really be made on a distributed basis thereby allowing a decentralized yield and distribution infrastructure. yield facilities can really be expanded.

The key is to look at means of producing ammonia efficiently from solar and wind energy.

Ammonia is not a "magical fuel" but it can really be made from renewable power sources, stored with existing technology, produces only water vapor and nitrogen as bi-products when burned, and is not more hazardous to handle than gasoline or propane.

********************************************************************
[1] Ammonia is converted to carbamoyl phosphate by the enzyme carbamoyl phosphate synthetase, and then enters the urea cycle to be whether incorporated into amino acids or excreted in the urine.

Repeated exposure to ammonia lowers the sensitivity to the smell of the gas: usually the odour is detectable at concentrations of less than 0.5 ppm (parts per million), but desensitized individuals may not detect it even at concentrations of 100 ppm.

The proper exposure limit (Pel) in the United States is 50 ppm (35 mg/m³), while the Idlh attentiveness is estimated at 300 ppm.

[2] The U. S. Occupational security and condition supervision (Osha) has set a 15-minute exposure limit for gaseous ammonia of 35 ppm by volume in the environmental air and an 8-hour exposure limit of 25 ppm by volume. Exposure to very high concentrations of gaseous ammonia can supervene in lung damage and death.

Cross Cultural Dating

Deciding to date person who is not from your culture takes courage, but also needs caution. Here are some practical tips on how to successfully date covering of your culture and race.

1. Make sure you study your date's culture. Be aware of its history in normal terms. If conversation turns to history and racial background, you do not want to come over as a ignorant or uncaring person.

News From Armenia

2. Ask conversation nearby families and lifestyle. You will learn about your date's background, customs etc.

3. Do not be condescending.

4. Be curious, but elegantly so. Asking person from Turkey if they feel sorry for the genocide against Armenia is not only insensitive but makes you look like a cad. Stick to history, geography, people, festivals and major customs. Conversely, be aware of your own culture's main points.

5. Learn about your own background and culture. You will be surprised how provocative folks are about them.

6. eye decorum required by your date's culture. This does not mean you need to dress like them - e.g. Women from positive sects of Islam cover their hair. But you need to be sensitive to their decorum and style. There are positive fundamental "don't" of behavior that exist in every culture. Study them, or talk to person who is customary with your date's culture to make sure you avoid those behaviors or topics.

7. I have seen some habitancy try to emulate other languages. They may be trying to be friendly, or smart. Either way, while speaking in other tongues is a personal choice, I would result a normal rule to avoid it, except to greet person in their language. Most habitancy are pleased to be greeted in their native language.

8. Most cultures have dietary restrictions. When provocative your date, be sure you are aware of these.

9. Now here is a controversial point and I leave it to you to result or not result it. I would not date person who is very sensitive about religion and rituals. In other words, avoid dating orthodox individuals. You can find this out by Asking some normal questions. A usual give-away is diet and dress. If you theorize that your date is very precise about both, avoid him/her unless of procedure you yourself are orthodox. Even in that case, you may run into a clash, if not with your date, with his friends and family.

10. Last but not least, be cautious about provocative families on Either side till you have a accepted insight of your date's cultural standing and value system. By that I mean, in addition to orthodox practices, is there a bias against your religion or culture? Keep the dating casual until you are both very comfortable in the cross culture companionship.

Good luck.

She Became a Legend in the 20Th Century

Agnes Gondzha Boyadjiev, the future mum Teresa was born August 27, 1910 in Skopje, the former Ottoman Empire, and modern Macedonia. She was the youngest of three children of Nicola Boyadjiev, a wealthy merchant. Her mother, nee Dranafile Bernay, has all the time been a true Catholic. Remembering his childhood, mum Teresa told "When I was five years old, my mum and I were walking through the fields to the village, which was placed quite far from our village; I was holding my mother's hand and was happy. At some point, my mum stopped and said: "You took my hand and feel safe, because I know the road. That's how you should keep the arm and the mum of God, and it throughout your life will lead you on the right path. Never let go of her hand! ". These words sank deep into my heart and memory: all my life I was holding her by the arm. And today did not regret it! ". Puny Agnes was so cute that relatives and neighbors called her an angel. all the time obedient and cheerful, happy Puny girl grew up in my own Puny world: going to school, sang in the church choir, wrote a note in the local newspaper, dreaming about the future. In the choice of profession was influenced by contacts with the Brotherhood of the Blessed Virgin Mary - an organization that helps the poor in different countries. Once he heard the minister of the parish read a letter from missionaries from India, Agnes became concerned in the activities of Bengal mission. Subsequently, the life of mum Teresa loved to be in tableaux viands nun to her order. The scene where seventeen Agnes asks the blessing of the mum to come to be a nun and go to Calcutta, they succeeded best. My mum survived the shock. Agnes so quiet, so reasonable, so home, good-natured! Where does this stink? Oh, and where that of Calcutta, on what side of the world? Giving his daughter to God, and even more so in Calcutta, meant especially for those times, disjunction forever. Her brother, Lazarus, who had studied while in the soldiery Academy, felt the decision of her younger sister's girlish whim, as she wrote in the letter. An Agnes endlessly quoted her numerous biographers: "Do you reconsider yourself important, because you'll come to be an officer and serve the King with two millions of subjects?" I will serve the king of the world. "

September 26, 1928 Agnes entered the train from Skopje to Zagreb. Mom Drann was right: the more she your popular Agnes never saw. It takes many years and already world famous, mum Teresa, founder of the Order of Mercy, with tears implored the Albanian Embassy for permission to enter the country and say goodbye to his dying mother. Officials took pity and gave permission to enter. And forget about the departure. mum Teresa understood that the iron curtain that separates Albania from the rest of the world, immediately lowered, and it will remain trapped. It will be years before mum Teresa will visit the grave of his mother.

News From Armenia

And yet there was a way Skopje - Zagreb and added over Europe in Dublin, in the nuns of the Order of Loreto, where for two months she had to learn English. Then she goes on to the dream of childhood, on a steamer through the Suez Canal into the Red Sea, the Indian Ocean. She swam towards his destiny, swam longer cute Puny angel - Agnes and Sister Teresa of the Order of Loreto and correspondent Zagreb newspaper "Catholic mission." Sixteen years Sister Teresa taught to girls in schools of the Order of Loreto history and natural science, enjoyed the love of teachers and students. In 1946, his sister Theresa started tuberculoses process, and raw Calcutta, she went to a mountain Darjeeling. The train gently trudged over India, stopping at each station. In the wagon train came and visited people: mothers with children, the elderly, crippled, tired, sunburns man. Citizen were exhausted and depressed, the mum tried to comfort hungry children, in the faces of many bore the stamp of disease, suffering and despair. In this train, there was a revolution in the soul humble nun. "I rode the train from Calcutta to Darjeeling... - writes mum Teresa September 10, 1946 - and quietly prayed, when suddenly, clearly felt a different calling inside of which I followed. This news was for real unambiguous. I had to leave the monastery and devote him fully to help the poor and lives among them. It was a commandment. It was clear and exact instructions: I was supposed to leave the walls of the convent to live among the poor. He told me cares about most needy in Calcutta - those who did not have whatever or anything, those who can not even go begging because they are naked, they do not even rags to cover the body. Those who fall in exhaustion on the streets, knowing that they die. Those who did not cry, because they have no more tears.... ". For two years she corresponded with Rome to get permission to come to be a nun freestyle. In August 1948, mum Teresa, thirty-eight years old, dressed in the store bought a cheap sari, left the nursing convent, where she was well, which was her second home, where she was loved and appreciated. In my pocket it was five rupees and the intention to serve the poor and the sick. "Mr. Gomez! I have nothing to eat. Please give me something to eat. «Such notes so far kept by Alfred Gomez, who on the suggestion of the local minister sheltered nun Teresa. Staying with Mr. Gomez, mum Teresa did not know what she should do next, how to serve the poorest of the poor. No added instructions "from above" has been received. Two years my sister Teresa was starving, sleeping just anywhere, asked for alms. But every Puny she had tried to fulfill its duty of charity: encouraged prayer of the dying, washed the wounds of lepers, shared the last piece to hungry children. "In the most wretched Citizen of Calcutta, I loved Jesus, but when you love, you feel no pain or difficulty. Moreover, from the very beginning I did not have time to be bored. "

For days she wandered about the streets, time, time made attempts to beg. Organized the "school" among the garbage heaps. She taught unwanted children wash their hands and write on the asphalt. She then did not know that his work marked the beginning of a ideas of orphanages in the Order of Mercy for the unwanted and unnecessary children - babies from garbage cans, small disabled, and orphans. She was pulling under any roof dying homeless and tried to ease their suffering. She did not know that it will take time, and the rumor of the blessed nun comes to the city authorities, who could not deny the millions of homeless Citizen die on the street, and they were criticized by the newspaper. It will local officials and offered to demolish the dying in a huge semi-dark room, adjacent to the temple of the goddess Kali, which once contained the sacrificial animals. Thus was "Home for the dying" in Calcutta. By that time, is an animated diary entry of mum Teresa: "God! What kind of flour alone today "- in this case did not count on miracles. A miracle happened; she began to help Subhasisni Dash, Bengal, and pupil of mum Teresa. future Sister Agnes, the first novice, the first sister. It was followed by the same in 1949 to mum Teresa were joined by 11 followers, mostly of its former pupils. You would not believe, but there have been, as it should for good beginnings, 12. The following year, 1950, the Order of Mercy was recognized by Rome.

Sisters of Mercy, who in addition to the primary monastic vows of poverty, chastity, obedience, a vow to give more aid to the poorest of the poor live in the same way as their clients: they have whether refrigerators or washing machines; they are more than unpretentious in food, wash straightforward soap and water, tour only on communal transport. Their property: a sari, sandals, umbrella in case of rain, a thin mattress. They are fine from the poorest of the poor, not just a small crucifix in his left shoulder. The life of these volunteers is difficult and monotonous. This endless love training with breaks for work. Work - means for them to clean, wash, washing, bandaging, exercise miracles of patience, durableness and lack of squeamishness, loathsome wounds of lepers Sisters of concern without gloves. Sometimes it must be under fire, as in Belfast or in Ethiopia. All this, of course, you can make, not yet a committed, the quiz, is how to get yourself in this and other fee change joyful cheerfulness and love to man? Here it was leading to be ready to work. This willingness to mum Teresa are unmistakable - the smile of quiet joy, reflecting the reasoning composure and tranquility. Uncollected, restless and nervous you can not go to work. They were invited to pray for as long as the epiphany did not occur until he could see the wounds of the suffering Christ in all manifestations of human frailness and ugliness. "We are not communal workers, we are not ambulance, and we are of the order of Christ's love." Training of love began at four in the morning with a prayer to St. Francis of Assisi.

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace;

Where there is hatred, let me sow love;

Where there is injury, pardon:

Where there is doubt, faith;

Where there is despair, hope

Where there is darkness, light

Where there is sadness, joy

O divine Master,

Grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console;

To be understood, as to understand;

To be loved, as to love;

For it is in giving that we receive,

It is in pardoning that we are pardoned,

And it is in dying that we are born to Eternal Life.

Amen.

This prayer begins a day, consisting again of many prayers. mum Teresa knew only one sufficient remedy against adversity, doubt, disease - an motion to God. She prescribed prayer times and from all diseases. Hand in hand with her sister's mum worked in the mud and misery, 16 hours a day. One journalist, observing the work of mum Teresa, said:

- How are you doing? I would for a million do not agree.

- And I would not have agreed. I do this not for money but for the sake of love.

The news of mum Teresa has spread throughout India, and then throughout the world. In 1965, the mission of the Order of Mercy was opened in Venezuela, then in Ceylon. More and more nurses wear white sari with blue border and went to the slums. Strengths of this world began to seek the enterprise of mum Teresa. When she found the time, received visitors in his tiny room, where there was a straightforward wooden bench. On one side sat visitor - Yasser Arafat, George Bush, Fidel Castro, Princess Diana, Ronald Reagan - Ronald and Nancy, Deng Xiaoping, King of Norway Harold V, Prince Charles, Pope Pius Xii, John Xxiii, Paul Vi, John Paul Ii... - but on the other - mum Teresa. The words that she uttered a deep sank into the souls of people

"Do not be afraid to love. Open heart and try to awaken in him a love. "

"This is the secret of goodness: first, it is weak, but omnipotent in the end. Evil, by contrast, is omnipotent at first, but diminishes with time.

"Love must lead to action. Corollary in the ministry."

"As we express our love for God is the action?

Be loyal to your family, right, to do what God has entrusted to us. whatever we were not - healthy or disabled, rich or poor, it is leading not how much we have done, but how much love put into their business. We are doomed for life, sharing love with others. "

In Calcutta, millions of Citizen are born, live and die on heaps of debris. And leave the life is for real under the feet of passers-by. Sisters of Charity, which mum Teresa founded, was taken to the living remains of a "Home for the dying", washed, fed, treated. And they once again before her death felt like human beings! In the house took all, even the most hopeless, from which the hospital refused. And then they kissed on the forehead mum Teresa. Contrary to all notions of general human disgust. This woman radiates light. To it from all sides stretched hands. Everybody wanted to touch her. She radiated love, great love, and love to everyone.

"I see Christ in every person. And because Christ is all the time one, for me at this single moment is the one who stands in front of me". So she said. And only the strong, happy, calm, they were ready for the daily battles for love. The enemy is putting on different masks. In India it was called "leprosy". In U.S. It was called "Aids". In South Africa - "apartheid". But for mum Teresa it was a lack of love, lack of charity, unwillingness to work sincerely, selfishness, stupidity - the eternal human wickedness, which sent Jesus to Golgotha.

In India, it has proven that leprosy - this is not the curse of the Lord, but plainly a disease and it can be cured if a timely tackles. She was persistently and consistently throws stones Citizen and relatives, delete patients from memory. Instead leprosarium was built village, where the lepers lived families to perfect rescue or death, and even allowed themselves to give birth to healthy children.

Its potential to furnish a sensation would be the envy image makers politicians and movie stars. She arrived in New York in the 1985th, in the midst of hysteria in relation to the Aids epidemic.

Visited the prison, where three died of infected offenders. She went to the reception to the mayor of New York. And the mayor, after a meeting with her, in twenty-four hours freed the dying. Christmas in the U.S. Opened the first shelter for Aids patients. She loved to gift Christ to the birthday, high-priced gifts. And while the townsfolk shaking with fear, and the priests were puzzled, what have the Christian charity towards those who committed the sin of Sodom! For that, and penalty!, «Gift of Love» - the so-called shelter for Aids patients in New York received its first patients. And mum Teresa told the Citizen on Tv that Aids - a warning of the Lord, this is a sign. About what? On the upcoming end of the world? No, of course. It is a sign that we should, in the end, we open the heart and to love each other. And «Gift of Love», mum Teresa, quietly turned into a gift from the townspeople their unfortunate brethren.

In 1979 mum Teresa received the Nobel Peace Prize for what she "claims the world in the most leading area, protecting the inviolability of human dignity". Norwegian King begged his mum to buy socks for the occasion, as the atmosphere Scandinavia does not have to wear shoes on their feet. In a white sari, the legends in the same, in which she left the convent, mum Teresa was the honorable podium in the world and says that love and respect for every human life is a condition of universal peace. From the celebratory banquet mum Teresa refused and thus saved $ 6000. The money she invested in the implementation of its mission.

Her detractors, of which the mum Teresa was a lot, did not understand what she was given the prestigious award. "What has this exalted old for such a great cause of peace throughout the world? - Written in many newspapers. - It is plainly a self-promoter and religious business. mum Teresa replied to the charges, a small miracle: she managed to stop at the time of hostilities in Beirut and withdraw from the bombardment of 37 orphans, of which there was none, greater care.

She could have: to cook dinner for 7,000 people; not sleep many nights in a row, all the time smiling, go to the Iranian embassy and leave a note there Ayatollah to urgently call her to discuss the issue of hostages; forget medal winner of the Nobel Peace Prize somewhere wardrobe of the Royal Palace.

She claimed that nothing strengthens the spirit and opens the soul of refugees, as polished cesspool, of course, she was cleaning her repeatedly.

She talked with kings and paupers. And do not write speeches. She had to just pray, to know what to say.

She graced her life model of the Virgin Mary and postcards with a bleeding heart of Christ, being treated for exhaustion and illnesses through prayer and fasting, she could call at night - every hour - and worthy of conversation, at Christmas, she sang the Christ "Happy birthday to you".

Manifest Goodness of mum Teresa

"By blood I am Albanian, by citizenship - an Indian, by religion - Catholic. But my occupation belongs to the whole world, but my heart belongs entirely to Christ". By being an marvelous tolerance and charity, mum Teresa was trying to get where most needed her help. In the late 80's she arrived in the earthquake devastated Armenia in the late 90's - at war in Bosnia. His work she called "a drop in the sea", but never detracts from the value of the good grain goodness. "We can not do great things, only "little" is done with great love. I believe in "little" business, it is in them our strength. "

The heart is not kept pace with his mistress: his mum suffered any heart attacks, but before the end of life every day got up at half past three and worked on a par with his sisters. The story of a touching miracle: the window cell, where they die Teresa, was a small dried tree. And after her death, the whole tree was covered with white as snow, and flowers. Funeral, mum Teresa, showed all the major Tv channels. The Government of India has it the same honors as his time to his father of the nation Gandhi. Millions of Citizen around the world mourned the departure from the life of this holy woman. But mum Teresa was not afraid of death; she hoped that the work of the Order will continue after her departure. And despite forecasts of skeptics and detractors, her hopes were justified. At present, the Order of mum Teresa's missionary is 600 points in 127 countries worldwide. They hire more than three hundred thousand followers, and the nuns of the Order, and every year it comes more and more novice.

Commandments of mum Teresa.

1. Citizen are unreasonable, illogical and selfish - still forgive them.

2. If you have shown kindness, and Citizen accuse you of secret personal motive - will still be kindness.

3. If you've had great success, then you may see a lot of false friend's Real enemy - still succeed.

4. If you are honest and frank, Citizen will deceive you - still be honest and frank.

5. The fact that you have built over the years, can be destroyed overnight - still continue to build.

6. If you have found the serene happiness, then you will be jealous - Be happy anyway.

7. Now you've done good work, Citizen will have forgotten tomorrow - do well anyway.

8. Share with Citizen the best of what you have, and they will never be sufficient - they continue to share with them the best. In the end you will see that it was all between God and you, and it never was between you and them.

9. It does not matter who said what about you - take it all with a smile and continue to do their job.

Gurdjieff Movements: Peak of Alertness Both bodily and reasoning

To know something about Gurdjieff Movements, it is first pertinent to know about Gurdjieff who created them. George Gurdjieff was an enlightened specialist born in Armenia in 1866. From an early age, he started to query the purpose of life, the creation of the universe and other such esoteric topics. At the age of 20, he set out on a journey continuing 20 years to the exotic lands of Central Asia, Egypt, Persia, Afghanistan, Tibet, India and other countries to visit spiritual places and people.

On his return to Russia in 1912, he began giving lectures, attracting admirers and followers and created 'sacred dances' but rather movements in a strict order. He explained them as having a obvious meaning hidden under the outward form. His pupil and chronicler, P. D. Ouspensky, in his book, 'In search of the Miraculous' quotes the specialist as, "There is something like the planets of the solar theory in these dances. Each planet is at a obvious distance from the sun and when the theory starts, the spheres begin to move along prescribed paths reproducing the laws which govern the movements of the planets. There is something like this in the rhythm of obvious dances."

News From Armenia

You have to be at the peak of your alertness, both physical and mental, when you take part in Gurdjieff Movements. Seemingly simple, they want an agile body and a hyperactive mind as they are very strict and strictly consequent a fixed sequence. They look easy but are not, as it takes some time to get into the groove to perform them accurately. They break all fixed patterns of your body and mind. They generate a space where the body, heart and action can strengthen in lightness. As one goes deeper into these movements, one reaches a still, a silent point amid all the activity. In all the action outside, one reaches the non-action inside at the centre. This experience is called 'Presence.' It is said that Gurdjieff would come to these dances, keep his eyes finished and direct the dancers to convert their movements as he wanted because they were so attuned to him. Even today, it is inherent for some groups to start these movements without music in faultless harmony with each other for over 15 minutes, while totally blindfolded!

A dancer, a dance-teacher, a dance-therapist, a choreographer, Ma Prem Amiyo and Swami Chetan, both Osho disciples, show the way workshops on Gurdjieff Movements in many parts of the world for over 30 years now. After finding a film about Gurdjieff called 'Meetings with considerable Men', Osho observed that there was nothing considerable about the film except the last ten minutes showing these movements. He asked Ma Amiyo to study them for three days. She viewed those ten-minute clips non-stop for three days and then Osho told her to lead a group on Gurdjieff Movements! Since then, she has never looked back and conducts these groups in many parts of the world and opened her school in Alsace, France. For participants, finding stillness amid all this action is a unique experience.

The Spear of Longinus

The prime mover in the assassination of Julius Caesar was married to a Brutus but I fancy he was less curious in restoring power to the Senate (and in some small way the citizen of Italy) than he was in his own power. The movie Spartacus does see it as I see it. His persona was played by Sir Laurence Olivier. Cassius, who is later called Longinus, dies at his own hand after a defeat in the homeland of Alexander at a city named after the father or other in the family of Alexander.

"The Spear of Destiny, also known as the Spear of Longinus and the Heilige Lance -- Holy Lance -- is one of the most foremost Christian relics of the Passion of Jesus Christ. As first described in John 19:31-37, the Spear was used by a Roman soldier (Gaius Cassius, later called Longinus) to pierce the side of Christ as he hung on the cross. The Spear, bathed in the blood of the Lamb and playing a principal role in the fulfillment of Old Testament prophecy, is believed to have acquired gargantuan mystical power. The first sign of that power was the purported medical of Gaius Cassius's failing eyesight by blood from the wound.

News From Armenia

The centurion later become an early convert to Christianity. The Spear subsequently passed straight through a multitude of hands, coming into the rights of many of Europe's most foremost political and soldiery leaders, including Constantine I, Alaric (the Visigoth king who sacked Rome in the year 410), Frankish normal Charles Martel, Charlemagne, Frederick of Barbarossa, and Frederick Ii. A leader who possessed the Spear was said to be invincible; Charlemagne and Frederick of Barbarossa were undefeated in battle until they let the Spear fall from their hands. A legend arose that whoever claimed the Spear 'holds the destiny of the world in his hands for good or evil.'

As a young man Adolf Hitler was fascinated by the Spear of Destiny, which he first saw displayed in the Hofsburg museum in Vienna, Austria in 1909. Hitler was familiar with the legend of the Holy Lance. His interest in the relic was further amplified by its role in the 1882 opera Parsifal -- by Hitler's favorite composer, Richard Wagner -- which implicated a group of ninth-century knights and their quest for the Holy Grail. Hitler's fascination with the Spear was pivotal in sparking his interest in the occult, which gave birth to his ideas on the origins and purpose of the Germanic race and contributed to his reliance in his own destiny as a world conqueror.

all the time end up finding out they are not as the myths do tell us. History may soon have to sass to forensics, I hope.}

On October 12, 1938, not long after the German annexation of Austria, Hitler ordered the S.S. To seize the Spear and other artifacts from Vienna. They were taken by train to Nuremberg, where they were stored in St. Katherine's Church. The Spear remained in St. Katherine's until 1944, when it was moved to a specially constructed vault under the church, built in secret and at great expense, intended to protect it and the other stolen relics from Allied bombs. Nuremberg was captured by Allied soldiery in April of the following year. The vault was subsequently discovered by American Army officers. The Spear was confiscated by American soldiery on the afternoon of April 30, 1945, less than two hours before Hitler's suicide in his secret bunker in Berlin. Like the Spear's previous owners, Hitler perished after the relic was taken from him.

Like most holy relics, the history of the Spear of Destiny is complex and difficult to authenticate. The earliest reports of the Spear were circa 570 A.D., when it was said to have been on display in the basilica of Mount Sion in Jerusalem alongside the Crown of Thorns. The point of the spear's blade was apparently broken off following the Persian conquest of Jerusalem in 615 A.D. The point, set into an icon, found its way to the church of Saint Sophia in Constantinople and later to France, where it remained in the Sainte Chapelle until the 18th century. It was briefly moved to the Bibliotheque Nationale in Paris during the French Revolution, but it subsequently disappeared. Meanwhile, the rest of the spearhead was transferred from Jerusalem to Constantinople sometime in the eighth century. It was taken by the Turks in the 14th century and sent by Sultan Bajazet as a gift to Pope Innocent Viii in 1492. Innocent ordered the relic settled in Saint Peter's in Rome, where it remains today, although the Catholic Church makes no great claim as to its authenticity.

There are several other contentious relics in different locations. One such "Holy Lance" was assertedly unearthed by Crusader Peter Bartholomew in Antioch in 1098. That Lance is now at Etschmiadzin in Armenia; scholars believe that it is not beyond doubt a Roman lance but the head of a standard, although it may have an spicy history of its own, cut off from the legend of the Lance. other claimant has rested in Krakow for about eight hundred years.

Hitler's lance was the fourth Spear, called the Lance of St. Maurice and the Holy Lance of Hapsburg, which is part of the Reichkleinodien (Imperial Regalia) of the house of Hapsburg. This spearhead is bound with gold, copper, and silver threads to a nail -- purported to be one of the nails of the Crucifixion. The earliest verifiable account of this Spear was its use in a coronation ceremony in 1273. It rested in Nuremberg during the Middle Ages, but by the early 20th century it was settled on display at the Treasure House of the Hofsburg museum in Vienna, where Hitler saw it in 1909.

This Spear has no greater claim to authenticity than any of the others, although Hitler -- who conducted his own less-than-rigorous investigation into its history -- was firmly convinced that it was the genuine article, foremost to its confiscation by the S.S. In 1938. In 1946 the Spear and the rest of the Imperial Regalia were returned to Austria. Today they are once again on communal display at the Hofsburg museum." (2)

The citizen mentioned as having had rights of the spear are all Merovingians (Family of Jesus) and they had built a ritual energy develop nearby the spear regardless of whether or not it is or ever was authentic. I cannot expect academicians to understand that and I am not going to address it in this book. I will have to do a book called The Jesus Conspiracy. I have explained these things in other books as far as the ritual acts of these Merovingians.

I wonder why this Spear is called the Spear of Longinus in so many places. Maybe I just missed something but if Joseph of Arimathaea is the Roman minister of Mines, (slavery) as well as a member of the Sanhedrin which was bought by Rome as was Herod, what is going on? When you know that Paul/Saul is a Roman from Tarshis and he was out stoning St. Stephen and he worked for the Sadducee Temple priests of the Sanhedrin you start to see things fall in place. Joseph takes the body of Jesus to his family crypt where Jesus had brought Lazarus back from the dead (or out of a near coma caused by drugs just as Jesus had been given when on the cross to appear dead. Joseph had to be connected to Jesus or Pilate (From Scotland maybe agreeing to current archaeological digs there.) could not have released the body to him despite the fact that Pilate would be from the area Joseph's tin mines had been central to an gargantuan money-making engine for his Benjaminite family. It is the Roman law that the body can only go to the family and that would include the father of Mary Magdalene/Bethany (same person - he owned homes in both cities plus in Egypt where Mary and Jesus had studied while growing up).

Do you think Gaius Cassius was unintelligent when he refused to do what other Senators wanted as he fought to defend Rome? Do you think he was in on the supposed death of Jesus or whatever beyond doubt happened there? There are many dots worth connecting here. I think there were suited citizen who wanted to build the kind of Empire that Rome shortly became. Their purpose or plan was an Empire with ever fewer numbers of actual participants in the decision-making. It continues long after the so-called fall of Rome. Cassius knew the Senate was a paper tiger or mere façade.

Jesus Is whole 1

You might be customary with the term day-trader. A day-trader is a high-risk investor who jumps in and out of the stock ticket often many times a day to take benefit of small price changes. Day traders regularly do not have any interest in the companies whose stock they are buying. These people are naturally trying to catch stocks that they think are going to rise in value and then they will sell and go finding for other quick-pick opportunities.

There are other investors who have become known as "dot-com" investors. They look for Internet companies, especially those with "dot-com" at the end of their names. They spend a little time researching the firms who have these stocks and they buy them on a marginal basis and sell them as soon as the price increases.

News From Armenia

Within the church there are some people who can be called day traders and dot-com investors. They know a little about God in reality and many think that they can buy a small share of christianity.com without first investigating Jesus' claim to being Lord over all of their lives.

At this point in Luke's Gospel, Jesus has attracted a large following. He was so favorite that, like a rock star, groupies began to gather. They had heard of his preaching, teaching and healing. They wanted to get close to him and caress his unusual energy. Some even concept that he would be a military-type man who would drive out the Roman army and return Israel to the glory days of the reign of King David. They were thinking to themselves, "Oh boy! Happy days are here again!", but oh boy, were they in for a big surprise!

Jesus swiftly dashed their hopes. He knew what his true mission was and what the cost would be. He asked them to consider the cost of following him, and he asks us the same demand today. Jesus calls for an exclusive commitment from us. all else in our lives must take a back seat. This is similar to what I was told when I joined the Mersey Band over 30 years ago. At that time, I was told by the bandmaster that my priorities were to be work or school first, house second, the band third and then all else. Now, for some members all else takes priority over the band. We must be prepared to leave all else behind and follow him when he calls us, just like the disciples did when Jesus called them. Faith frees us from those things which keep us from the genuine joy of following Christ.

Moses said the same thing in Deuteronomy 30:15-20 just before he died, and just before the Israelites entered the Promised Land. He was concerned that their descendants clearly knew what was in store for them. They had a selection to make: obey God and be blessed, or disobey God and be punished.

Jesus gives us the same selection today. Our decision has a cost. If we disobey God, we will be punished by eternal damnation. If we obey God, we will be rewarded by Him, but we could be punished by our world today. We may suffer rejection or discrimination. Some of our friends and/or house members may shun us. We must really ask ourselves if we are prepared to pay the cost.

Today, as it was in Jesus' time, he has many followers, but few disciples. For example, look at any church description of attendance or stewardship of time, talent and substance. What is the ration of those who put Jesus first? There are still many people who seek the blessings but they are either not counting the cost or are not willing to pay it. In other words, they want the benefits but they do not want to pay the costs. Such people seek the cheap "no commitment" blessings he does not offer. Such seeking ends in discontentment and disillusionment. That's why lots of his followers get discouraged with him in our day, just as they did in his day.

The dangers of being Christian in a violent world have not passed. Recently a group of medical aid workers in Afghanistan were executed by the Taliban, the infer being that they supposedly had proselytizing materials in their possession. All of the victims were connected with the International assistance Mission, a Christian organization which in case, granted humanitarian relief and aid in Afghanistan for decades. The Taliban claimed they were killed as Western spies who were preaching Christianity; however, safety troops in Afghanistan said robbery was the probable motive.

Jesus knew that just as he would be rejected, abused and killed by the world, that his disciples would also face greatest hostility and hatred. Here are the fates of his former disciples:

1. James, the brother of Jesus, and James, the son of Zebedee, were killed by mobs in Jerusalem.
2. Matthew was run straight through with a sword in Ethiopia.
3. Philip was hanged in Greece.
4. Bartholomew was flayed alive in Armenia. In other words, his skin was stripped off of his body by whipping.
5. Andrew was crucified in Achaia and Thomas was killed with a lance in east India.
6. Thaddeus was slain with arrows and Simon the Zealot was crucified by the Persians.
7. Peter was crucified upside down by the Romans.
8. John died alone on the island of Patmos.

Greatness means there is a price to be paid. It all the time has meant that and all the time will mean that. Jesus knew that if his disciples could reject the earthly ties that bound them to human allegiances and loyalties first and foremost, then they could focus their faith and draw their power from God's power, love and kingdom.

Some of you may have heard of a Baptist priest by the name of Dr. Charles F. Stanley. He is the pastor of First Baptist Church in Atlanta, Georgia, and the president of In Touch Ministries. His church services are televised worldwide on the schedule "In Touch. He is also a world-renowned author. In fact, the Charles F. Stanley Life law Bible is one of the many resources that I use when preparing my sermons. His motto is "Obey God, and leave all the consequences to him". What this means is that if we choose to follow Christ, God will give us the power and courage to face the consequences of our decision-both confident and negative. God will give us the courage to face adversity.

Our decision to follow Christ will involve huge sacrifices and the spending of vast amounts of vigor and resources on serving our fellow man. This has been done by lowly people. After all, God uses lowly people to do splendid things. Jesus' disciples were lowly people ranging from fishermen to a tax collector. God used Billy Graham, a farm boy from North Carolina, to originate one of the most spiritual revivals on the 20th century. God uses Billy's son Franklin to ease the suffering of humanity straight through his work with the Christian relief organization Samaritan's Purse. Billy Graham recently said that he feels called by God to preach again at the age of ninety, even if it is for one last time. Closer to home, God uses me and other volunteers, some of whom are from our own parish, to help ease poverty straight through the local food bank, which was started in the 1980s by the now-defunct local association of churches. God uses our rector to ease the plight of sailors on ocean-going vessels straight through his work with the Missions to Seafarers in the Port of Liverpool and Brooklyn.

There is a movement abroad today by people who want a very different kind of Christ. This movement is called the Prosperity Gospel. Supporters of the Prosperity Gospel emphasize that Christ wants to make his followers wealthy. A billboard for a revival by evangelist Benny Hinn promised "Business Breakthrough: special Prayers for Your enterprise & Finances." The Prosperity Gospel is a movement that started in the United States and has spread throughout the world. people find it provocative because it promises material rewards for discipleship. It tells them that Jesus will make them wealthy, But Jesus said, "None of you can become my disciple if you do not give up all your possessions." What he meant is that we cannot be his disciples if we allow the God-space at the centre of our lives to fill up with the love of money or material goods.

Jesus does not promise that our walk of faith will be easy. To paraphrase the title of a song recorded by Loretta Lynn, Jesus never promised us a rose orchad here on earth. In fact, he makes it quite clear that there will be a cost. At this point in Luke's Gospel, Jesus is on his way to Jerusalem, and he knows that when he gets there he will be arrested, tried and crucified-a sell out that he has to make so that we can be restored to a association with God. Now God is not calling us to make this kind of sell out like Christians in the Third World often have to do. He is also not calling us to sell all we have and lead a life of a travelling missionary, although some great souls such as mum Theresa have done that in the past. Most of us have far too many responsibilities to do that, but we can take some small steps in that direction. We can do things such as donating extra clothes or furniture that we don't need to the poor or by donating time and money to help the less fortunate in our community. For example, the local food bank has seen the demand for its services increase at a faster rate than the increase in donations. The situation has reached the point where the food bank has almost run out of money and has had to discourage people from using the food bank.

Jesus calls on us to look again at those community sees as "outcasts" and see them as valued members of society. He himself was determined by many people, especially the Pharisees and Sadducees, as an "outcast'. His life and death placed him with the outcasts. Those who believe in him and his life, death and resurrection are often determined by our community to be outcasts because they, like Jesus, choose to go against society's rules.

When Jesus said that we must "hate father and mother", he was talking figuratively, not literally. Good thing, because that would mean disobeying the commandment to honour our parents-a commandment that I take seriously especially with my dear, sweet mum (and especially if I want to continue living at home!). As I mentioned earlier, what Jesus means is that we must have a secondary attachment to all in our lives except Jesus. He must be our amount one priority. Even then, there will be times when we will have to make choices that put our discipleship in the line. There will be times where we will have to say "No" to what seems to be alternative or easier ways of doing things. There will be times where we will be tempted like Christ was when he was in the wilderness. Following Christ is not a certify of a conflict-free life. In fact, Jesus was quite capable of blistering verbal assaults and even violence when he drove the money-changers out of the temple. In the words of general Dwight Eisenhower when he addressed the troops on the eve of the D-Day invasion in World War Ii, "There will be no victories at bargain-basement prices".

The most notable book on the meaning of discipleship, which is entitled "The Cost of Discipleship", was written in the 1930s by Dietrich Bonhoeffer. He was a German pastor and theologian who tried to lead his church in resistance to the Nazis and was martyred in 1945 at the Flossenberg attentiveness camp for his part in a conspiracy to murder Adolph Hitler. Bonhoeffer wrote these words in the book, "Where will the call to discipleship lead those who follow it? What decisions and painful separations will it entail? We must take this demand to him alone who knows the answer. Only Jesus Christ, who bids us follow him, knows where the path will lead. But we know that it will be a path full of mercy beyond measure. Discipleship is joy."

Jesus does not promise us material wealth if we follow him, but he promises us a wealth beyond anything we can dream of in terms of material goods. His wealth is the wealth of the Holy Spirit and the wealth of heaven. God and Christ are willing to share this wealth with us. There is a hymn in the tasteless Praise hymnbook entitled, "Will You Come and follow Me". All we have to do to receive Christ's wealth is to say "Yes" and follow him in faith. As a result, our earthly journey may be hard, but when we get to heaven, we will find that the streets of gold are waiting for us-and they don't have any potholes either!
